A greenfield AI pilot for a medtech client. In medical-device verification and validation, every test step needs traceable evidence. The workflow finds it in approved documents and proposes a result for a reviewer to approve. I helped design the architecture: permission-aware document access, EU-hosted inference behind an LLM gateway, and tracing for every model call. I built the evidence lookup. It works out what the test step asks for, expands the search terms by fixed rules, ranks evidence with hybrid retrieval and abstains when the evidence is too thin. Every citation points to the exact document revision and page. I presented the work to the client in three demos.

Worked on LeRA, an assistant that answers questions about large, undocumented codebases for new joiners, tech leads who inherited a system, and auditors. Every claim in an answer cites a file and line span, so anyone can check it. I owned the grounding check: a claim's confidence comes from how precisely its citation resolves, never from the model's own opinion, and every rejected draft is logged with a reason. I also built hybrid retrieval (BM25 plus dense embeddings, fused with reciprocal rank fusion) tuned on 103 questions, doc-vs-code contradiction detection, and the evaluation harness that tests every change against a measured noise floor.

Led a 6-developer Agile team that delivered a scalable hotel-booking REST API in Java and Spring Boot in three weeks, with JWT authentication and role-based access control. I designed the API and the database schema, built the booking data layer with optimistic locking, reviewed and merged most of the team's pull requests, and set up GitHub Actions CI that enforces Spotless formatting and a 75% JaCoCo coverage gate.
